Best Seller

Best Seller is about a hitman and a cop who join forces to fight evil.

Best Seller pops up on Amazon Prime tonight – 1987 movie starring James Woods and Brian Dennehy.

I like them both – yet never saw the movie.

The promo says: “A widowed Joseph Wambaugh-type cop who writes best-selling crime novels is approached by a former professional hit man to write his life story.”

“Best-selling crime novels” and “Joseph Wambaugh-type cop” hook me – I’ll tell you all about Joe Wambaugh tomorrow.

Pretty much a two-man show with James Woods as the hitman and Brian Dennehy as a cop-turned novelist.

Just watched Dennehy (185 credits) in Rambo’s First Blood (1982) the other day – a couple episodes of The Blacklist – and will always remember him in Tommy Boy (1995).

I follow James Woods (144 credits) on social media – when he’s not sanctioned – saw him recently in a few episodes of Ray Donovan – first remember him in Salvador (1986) – Diggstown (1992) – and Sharon Stone’s ex in Casino (1995).

Two females worth noting – lean & long-legged Victoria Tennant (48 credits) plays Dennehy’s agent or publisher – I only included her to showcase her awful boob-job.

Allison Balson (19 credits) plays Dennehy’s daughter – who’s taken hostage by the bad guys.

To paraphrase IMDB: A hitman approaches a writer to help him create his next best seller, but his violent world has other plans.

Lotta action – twists & turns & lotta bad guys getting shot – I enjoyed it.

I’m America’s Best Crime Writer

and I approve this message.

Warner Books published Born to Be Wild in 1992 & it still sells every day at Amazon & Kindle. True story about certain members of the Warlocks motorcycle gang.

The story takes 21 years to play out – with many twists & turns – an amalgam of Sons of Anarchy & Breaking Bad – but these outlaw bikers make the Sons look like Cub Scouts.
