My Student Film Part 1
For any film to resonate with its audience – it must strike a nerve and set a tone that elicits emotional responses – now, my student film can only be ten minutes long – no time to fuck around – so what’s it going to be about?
I got it – going to Confession always gave me the creeps – so that’s it – simple – my movie starts at a Catholic church – then a hot girl steps into the Confessional booth – the priest slides open the little screen door – and after her “Bless me Father for I have sinned” – he begins probing about sins she committed.
Last confession? – using the name of the Lord thy God in vain? – missing mass? – eating meat on Friday – telling lies? – impure thoughts? – Did you ever abuse yourself? – Yes, Father, too many times to count – in fact, Father, I’m doing it right now.
A quick reveal shows her hand going at it under her dress – then the scene shifts to a bedroom where the priest is really probing her – naked on a bed – and here we have a scenario that should trigger quite a few emotions from the viewers.
Directing a movie is one of the most difficult jobs in the world – as I discovered when I attended the New York Film Academy in 1991-92.
This is what it takes.
Coming Soon – Part 2 – Man of Many Hats
I’m America’s Best Crime Writer
and I approve this message.
Warner Books published Born to Be Wild in 1992 & it still sells every day at Amazon & Kindle. True story about certain members of the Warlocks motorcycle gang.
The story takes 21 years to play out – with many twists & turns – an amalgam of Sons of Anarchy & Breaking Bad – but these outlaw bikers make the Sons look like Cub Scouts.
