Sabrina

Sabrina is a remake worth watching … again.

Sabrina

I watched Sabrina last night – that’s 1995’s Sabrina with Harrison Ford, Julia Ormond, & Greg Kinnear. Of course I also saw the original 1954 Sabrina with Humphrey Bogart, Audrey Hepburn, & William Holden.

Gotta tell ya – I saw Sabrina 5 or 6 times 20 years ago – but last night it was like I never saw it before – and I liked it – a lot – a few surprises caught me with my pants down.

And a nice undercard with Nancy Marchand, Richard Crenna, Angie Dickinson, and Lauren Holly.

IMDB describes 1995’s Sabrina like so:

“An ugly duckling having undergone a remarkable change, still harbors feelings for her crush: a carefree playboy, but not before his business-focused brother has something to say about it.”

And IMDB describes 1954’s Sabrina like so:
“A playboy becomes interested in the daughter of his family’s chauffeur, but it’s his more serious brother who would be the better man for her.”

Seemingly different descriptions – yet they say the same thing.

Here’s the trailer.

and I approve this message.

Warner Books published Born to Be Wild in 1992 & it still sells every day at Amazon & Kindle. True story about certain members of the Warlocks motorcycle gang.

The story takes 21 years to play out – with many twists & turns – an amalgam of Sons of Anarchy & Breaking Bad – but these outlaw bikers make the Sons look like Cub Scouts.
