Leslie Van Houten was a drug-freak who became a cold-blooded killer.
Last night I bumped into the 2018 movie CHARLEY SAYS.
Charley refers to Charles Manson, and the movie’s about the Manson Family.
I like it and will tell you all about it tomorrow – but first.
IMDB describes CHARLEY SAYS like this: “The tragic tale of an all-American girl who was transformed into a cold-blooded killer in the summer of 1969.”
WHAT A CROCK OF SHIT.
The all-American girl refers to Leslie Van Houten – and the cold-blooded killer is on the money. But let’s take a look at this “all-American girl.”
Leslie Van Houten was born in Altadena, California – a suburb of L.A. – on August 23, 1949. She grew up middle-class. Her family attended church regularly. She had an older brother and two adopted Korean siblings – a brother and a sister.
Not bad so far.
Her parents divorced when she was 14.
By 15 she was taking LSD and Benzedrine, and smoking hashish. She ran from home a few times but returned home in time to graduate from high school.
At 17 she got pregnant.
Her mother forced her to get a late-term abortion – and made her bury the baby in the backyard.
Sorry, IMDB – don’t sound like an all-American girl to me. Who the fuck wrote that promo?
At present, she’s still serving time in the California prison system.

and I approve this message.
Warner Books published Born to Be Wild in 1992 & it still sells every day at Amazon & Kindle. True story about certain members of the Warlocks motorcycle gang.
The story takes 21 years to play out – with many twists & turns – an amalgam of Sons of Anarchy & Breaking Bad – but these outlaw bikers make the Sons look like Cub Scouts.
