“She asked me if I wanted to have sex. She said, ‘Please don’t kill me. Have sex, but please don’t kill me.’”
Kinky Clues
True Detective published my third true crime story in its October 1991 issue.
The editors titled it “Kinky Clues Beside the Gang-Raped Girl.”
On the Caribbean island of St. Croix, missing panties were just one of the kinky clues beside the gang-raped girl.
At the time I was teaching algebra, geometry, and trig at Country Day School – an expensive private school – on the island of St. Croix. Rather than risk getting fired for writing a murder story, I used the pen name Steven Barry by flip-flopping my first name and middle name.
Kinky Clues is now available in eBook form and also in audio form on the America’s Best Crime Magazine podcasts.
It’s the third story, of six, in my Caribbean Collection of stories – all true murder cases that took place on St. Thomas, St. Croix, and Puerto Rico.
I’m America’s Best Crime Writer and I approve this message.
Caribbean Queen is a sexy love story and police procedural murder mystery that would make super sleuths like Charlie Chan, Colombo, Sonny Crockett, & Theo Kojak proud to solve.
