Before Jimmy McGill
Bob Odenkirk is the star of Better Call Saul. Below is a clip from the show’s first episode in 2015 and it provides a perfect introduction to Jimmy McGill.
Bob Odenkirk racked up 117 acting credits before Jimmy McGill since first appearing in a couple episodes of Cableville, USA way back in 1987. Since then most of his roles came in TV series like Saturday Night Live, The Ben Stiller Show, The Larry Sanders Show, Everybody Loves Raymond, Entourage, How I Met Your Mother, Fargo, my and two favorite shows ─ Breaking Bad & Better Call Saul.
But he made his lasting first impression on me in a 2009 episode of Rules of Engagement when he ran into his old friend Jeff Bingham (Patrick Warburton) at a boat show.
I best remember Patrick Warburton as Elaine Benes’ boyfriend David Puddy in Seinfeld and as a control freak in several National Car Rental commercials.
Bob Odenkirk is one of my favorite contemporary actors. By the way he also racked up 39 writing credits.
I’m America’s Best Crime Writer – Barry Bowe – & I approve this message.
My first book – Born to Be Wild – Published in 1992 – Still selling on Amazon & Kindle. A true story about certain members of the Warlocks motorcycle gang.
The story took 21 years to play out – many twists & turns – an amalgam of Sons of Anarchy and Breaking Bad – but these outlaw bikers make the Sons look like Cub Scouts.
