Interesting concept and nifty plot twists
Cartels
The movie Cartels just came on.
Ssince I’m writing a book about drug-trafficking, figured I’d give it a look.
But damn – this guy gained more weight than I did.
Stephen Seagal is the star – 58 acting credits – I saw him in Above the Law (1988) – Hard to Kill (1990) – Under Siege (1992) – On Deadly Ground (1994) – Fire Down Below (1997) – liked him in all the them.
Seagal was married three times – middle wife was Kelly LeBrock.
She made her sexy debut in 1984’s Woman in Red and appeared with Seagal in Hard to Kill.
That’s where they met – married in 1987 – son and daughter together before getting divorced in 1996.
Hate to say it, but just like her former husband, she has not aged well – and compounded that problem by turning into a cartoon character by having her lips pumped full of you-know-what.
Getting back to Cartels – IMDB describes the movie like so:
“A drug lord is captured and held “secretly” by 6 US agents at a hotel in Constanta, Romania. He agreed to testify against others in the drug business. They send lots of armed men to the hotel. Lots of shooting follows.”
Yeah, IMDB, that’s close.
My new book-in-progress deals with the Sinaloa and Cali cartels – this movie was 180 degrees away from that – so it was no help for research purposes – but well plotted and enjoyable.
I liked Luke Goss – 75 acting credits but never saw him before – also saw Martine Argent for the first time – her only acting credit but she’s a big-time fashion model.
Here’s the trailer.
