A serial killer was picking up hookers, kidnapping them, torturing them, and killing them.
The Corridor Killer
“The Corridor Killer” was stalking the Route 40/Route 13 corridor in New Castle County, Delaware – picking up hookers – kidnapping them – brutally torturing them – and killing them.
Detective Renee Lano volunteered to pose as a hooker.
I sat down with Renee, and this is what she told me about that assignment:
“They didn’t tell me a lot about what was going on in the investigation. I was very new – still on probation – and didn’t need to know most of the details. They didn’t want to confuse me with too much information. About all I knew was that young women were being killed and blue fibers had been vacuumed from one of the victims.”
Renee dressed up like a hooker every night and walked that corridor, hoping to connect with the brutal killer.
It took six weeks – but she made the connection – and they captured the serial killer.
And I got my first cover story – a Super Cops special edition for True Detective – July 1993.
“The Corridor Killer” eBook will soon be ready.

House of Horrors eBook came out last week. If I were reading it for the first time – I’d find it almost impossible to believe. But I know it all happened.
