Raymond Reddington Arrested
Hong Kong authorities arrest FBI Fugitive Raymond Reddington in Episode 9 of Season 2 of The Blacklist. Which is one of my favorite TV Crime Series. So it’s only natural for me to pay homage to The Blacklist in my new crime novel The Dead Stripper.
The release date for The Dead Stripper is March 1st.
The homage to The Blacklist takes place in Scene 5 of Chapter 25 – “The Coin Flip” and it goes like this:
The Blacklist is playing in the background. It’s the episode where live TV footage shows a cop from Hong Kong leading Raymond Reddington by the arm. Reddington is dressed in a tuxedo and handcuffed. From there U.S. soldiers take control of him in South Korea then transport him via helicopter to a U.S. Blacksite Prison nicknamed “The Factory” located somewhere in the Bering Sea.
I’ve seen the episode at least a dozen of times and know it inside and out, so I’m not paying much attention as I go about making necessary revisions to my manuscript.
First comes the chronology. I do a little juggling until everything seems to fit perfectly, at least as far as I can tell. Next comes beefing up my main female character until she’s stronger and better rounded. When I’m satisfied with her I do the same thing with my plot points. Finally the only thing left is dicking around with the theme.
That should take an hour on the inside, two hours on the outside. But after that I’ll hafta go back to the beginning and read the whole manuscript from start to finish. With a lotta luck I’ll finish by the time I fall asleep tonight.

I’m America’s Best Crime Writer – Barry Bowe – & I approve this message.
My first book – BORN TO BE WILD – Published in 1992 – Still selling on Amazon & Kindle. A true story about certain members of the Warlocks motorcycle gang.
The story took 21 years to play out – many twists & turns – an amalgam of SONS OF ANARCHY & BREAKING BAD – but these outlaw bikers make the SONS look like Cub Scouts.
